I love that you are rediscovering things as you pack and posting them. It feels wistful and cathartic. When I packed, it was in such a rush - after work, late at night and in chance moments of free time. I did not let myself think about the process, to consider what I was uncovering. Movement between cities has always been like this for me, it seems: the denial of the move till the last moment, and then the panicked packing, and then suddenly, a new place. There's pain in transition I do not wish to confront. But the result is what is now: a new city, my books still in boxes, trying to figure out how things work once again, without a sense of really leaving the place before.
